Peacocks attacked my car, need a new girlfriend
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:48:55 »
Wednesday morning I awoke at my girlfriends house, as normal. I drove home, as I was walking into my house, I looked in horror. Several small dents and huge scratches all over the passenger door and front fender. I had noticed a Peacock staring at his reflection in my nice shiny black 230SL the previous evening. Aparently  the Peacock had a fight with his reflection. What a mess. My girlfriend raises Peafowl. I put the cover on my car and parked it in the garage to let my head cool. I stayed home last night. You never know where danger lurks. Just one paint job away from perfection and one new girlfriend and life will be good.

I assume your car had enough class not to fight back! 230's are funny like that.

What a bummer, perhaps you can stuff and mount the bird on the hood.

Such are the potholes in the road we travel. But it could have been worse: A fight with your girlfriend and she kicks in the door of your car. It has happened before. Is damage by Peacock considered Comprehensive or Collision?

This reminds me a little of a story. A couple years ago, I drove up to South Lake Tahoe to visit my brother who had a cabin there. (I say had because he since sold it AND it is really close to the presently burning area -- so not even sure it is still there)...

Anyway, I drive up in the Pagoda and he says you might not want to park there (under a canopy of pines I picked out)... Then he shows me the roof of his car -- several major dings and dents. Apparently, the night before a bear was in a tree literally hurling pine cones down onto his car. Needless to say, I didn't sleep all that great that night...

Hey, 15 or 20 years from now you'll just laugh and enjoy telling this great story.

Another PPP!  The Peacock Pagoda Pecker.  Does this mean we have to add a Peacock Preventive Pistol to our travel accessories?

I'm afraid I had a chuckle at your misfortune. ;)  Good luck finding a new girlfriend. Check for weird hobbies first!

What the story failed to mention was that the Peacock had been chased to Burger King all the way from Avon, New York and that the crazed man was wearing a sporty Pagoda SL group polo shirt...

Have to add that it did give me a chuckle too  But am sorry for your predicament.
A new girlfriend might be best, but first find out what kind of hobbies or career she has first before exposing your pagoda to her.
On another note, similiar situation, several times while walking from my car to the store in the middle of these huge parking lots, you pass all kinds of cars.  And several times there was a car with dogs locked up inside.  Once I passed a Cadillac with a small Terrier dog inside, and the little thing made such a ruckus with all the yapping and barking.  But in between the noise, he was biting and chewing up the door panel.  Upon finishing my shopping and heading back to the car, I passed the same Caddy again and the same thing happened, only now the door panel was shredded.  Wonder what the owner did to the dog and door panel.

So, what should one do with a neighbourhood cat that may get locked up in the garage?

It's sad how cat's seem to "run away" like that. Here in the states we have this "don't ask don't tell thing going on. perhaps thats your best answer. The cat ran away as far as you know.

hmm. This thread explains the story I read a while back on www.peahen.org about a girl looking to dump a boyfriend who has this car that constantly attracts her birds.  Something about needing a guy with a better hobby than an old mercedes. -CTH
