restoration shop in the toledo ohio area?
« on: June 18, 2007, 17:13:29 »
My folks had a car restored in or around the toledo area 10 to 15 years ago. I am trying to track down who they were. Any ideas who the quality restorer of 280's might be in that area?

Pete,

I checked my back issues of "The Mercedes Collector" from 1990 and that era, no restorers with advertisements from the Toledo area.

A couple of things you might want to do: contact the Northwest Ohio Section of the MBCA (see the www.mbca.org website) and speak with somebody there; maybe there's an old timer around who knows of which you speak.  Also, going back to The Mercedes Collector, there are a few well known restorers et al who are still around; people such as Bruce Adams, John Olson, Bob Platz etc.  Most still advertise or can be contacted through the MBCA or The Star.  This should give you enough information to find this person/shop--if they are still around.  Another thing you can try is to contact the people that work with this kind of shop--upholstery, welding, paint suppliers, etc. in the Toledo area, and ask them.
