New Official Mercedes-Benz Website
« on: September 01, 2003, 07:35:39 »
Hi Group,

Mercedes-Benz presents today 1st of September, an international Website with new structure and remodeled design.

Inside "Heritage" section, you will find many information about MB classic cars and services. Including the very useful "Spare Parts Availability" function (If you go to "Heritage", then to "Classic Services", then to "Spare Parts Retail", and then to "Spare Parts Availability"), where you can insert the MB number of the desired spare part, and it will show if the part is available, and its current price in Germany.

It's worth one's while to visit the new site!:

Thanks for the tip, I did not do a lot of exploring, but checked a couple of parts and they were listed! You will need to have the converted part number, the numbers from the parts book are not listed. I got a conversion CD when I got the parts list from MB classic.

Hi Jonny,

Yes, some part numbers of the vintage spare parts book don't work here, because they were replaced. It only works with current part numbers.

It's interesting that conversion CD. I guess it comes from MB Classic USA, because I think MB Classic Germany only sells an additional spare parts list of parts in stock (summarized, without engine parts, but with current part numbers and prices): L6510 0000 04.

Does that CD include conversion numbers of engine parts?

While at the Pittsburgh Vintage races and car show this past July, the MB classic center had a display tent, and were handing out the price sheets for all the parts, manuals, etc books. Along with this they gave me a CD that did the conversion from the parts numbers as listed in the old style parts number to the new ones (with the letter in front) that the web site requires. All you do is boot up the disc, type in the old number in the slot provided and hit the search button, if there is a new listing, it pops up. I am traveling this week and do not have the CD available to look at to give you any further references numbers etc. I will do that when I get back this weekend.

The CD I got from Mercedes Benz Classic

Titled

Classic Parts Inquiries
V2.2.3
english

Mercedes Benz Classic
Parts Wonderlist August 2002

As I said in the previous post, the folks from MB Classic were handing these out along with a price list of the various publications at the Pittsburgh Vintage GP. I would guess they would be available through the Classic Center.

I called the Classic Center, and have another copy of the parts number conversion CD coming to me. The person at MB said this is a load and go type deal, with no need to keep the disk. Naj asked for it so I will contact him to send it out. But there is no reason why we cannot pass it along to each interested person

Ron,

No sir.

The person I spoke with indicated that they usually hand these discs out at events/shows. He said they had some on hand, and was very willing to send one along.

If this item is free and given away.[:p]
I would be happy to make it available on one of my web sites and place a pointer to it here.

Can someone get the disk to me here in Ohio or online. Please contact me  offline.
