mistery switch
« on: July 22, 2007, 12:55:04 »
I have a broken switch on the clutch and cannot find the type. I searched in the official MB parts book and also at SLS's on-line catalogue but found nothing.I think it has to do with the emmission control system (USA-car). I included some pics.

It looks like Table 6, #8 000 545 66 11.  It also looks like the switch #4 in SA 10866 but I don't have the details on that switch.

I would not be too concerned about this switch or the emissions system in general.  Basically these switches ( there are others on the gearbox) activate a circuit which shuts off fuel to the FIP under certain circumstances. The idea is to shut off fuel when coasting to avoid an over rich condition which produces higher CO levels in the exhaust.
