Road Trip Completed

I've owned my 68 280 for a little more than two years, but this Labor Day weekend I took my first road trip of more than 80 miles.  Drove from Spokane, Wa. to Oroville on the Canadian border to play a Blues Festival on Saturday (a trip of nearly four hours through some very desolate landscape), then on to Vernon, British Columbia to play golf at Predator Ridge, (another 2+ hours north). The car easily held two sets of clubs, overnight bags, tools and odds and ends, although the tenor and baritone saxes had to go with another bandmember. The windscreen I added this summer from Classic Additions was a tremendous help. I followed some advice gained from this board and increased my Hagerty coverage to provide more flatbed towing (a very modest  increase in premium) took some spares (plugs, points and condenser to rescue the Pertronix, fan belt, hoses, and oil). Glad to report that the car ran flawlessly throughout.  The thing that really amazed me was the complete lack of fatigue driving more than six hours with just a fuel stop and a border crossing. Thanks to those on this board who provided the advice on preparing the car to go.

Bravo!  That's what these cars are for!  And well suited they are for it, too.
