Blacklick Article in the Star
« on: October 30, 2007, 20:31:49 »
Just wanted to call everyone's attention to the article written in the Nov-Dec edition of the Star which is a great recap of Blacklick 2007.  Nice work John, Michael and Joe!

Hi Ken,

We write these things and never know when or if they'll be published, and what photos they'll choose.

What was astounding to me is that I did not receive my "President's Package" (that's a bundle of 5 copies sent separately) until November 3--Saturday.  I have yet to receive my subscription copy.  Unless you had inside information or a preview copy, consider yourself lucky that you received your Star in such a timely manner!!

...

Is there a possibility to obtain a copy of this issue as a non-MBNA member?

Any advice appreciated.

Best,

Hey Achim. I am not sure of this but I recall my old Mercedes Dealership had The Star available alongside various merchandise in the showroom. If this doesn't work -- I bet somebody could send you theirs. (me for example, although I think postage would be too much from here in Calif)

Achim has received a copy by email last night.  And I reminded him, as I do of all of our non US members here, that you too can join the MBCA and receive 6 issues a year of TheStar and enjoy many articles as well as a wealth of great advertising and discounts.

Good, make that excellent, article.  A little attribution is in order.  Basil, the German sheperd in attendance to the last two sessions, reminded me that I first called it BUP- Blacklick University of the Pagoda.  She and I changed it to PUB- Pagoda University at Blacklick.  Hence, the first Pagoda SL Group General Discussion mention was 'Hooray, hooray, the PUB is two weeks away' before the 2007 meeting.  The 'PUB' tee shirts- collectors items.
