wiper switch problem
« on: January 13, 2008, 04:29:55 »
A friend has a 280sl with a wiper switch that could need replacing because the wiper push function of the switch is not 'normal'

My friend wrote an email explaining his problem

quote
My issue is that everything work but end out cap is “ bending” i.e. something inside that secures it to inner section is not right, when is normal position an done pushes outwards to engage washers. Then one pushes in to engage wipers, it “rubs” on inner part and is not the normal easy push and click action

Is this fixable?

Is the wiper switch on a Lhd car on the left or right of the steering column?

Is it possible to use a Lhd car wiper switch in a RHD car?
If yes would wiring changes need to be made?

all information welcome, thanks

Thanks.

I kinda think the wiper switch could be turned over and plugged in maybe need some wires swapped.

I haven't seen a switch close up but I reckon it would have symmetrical mountings.
