Idle wobble
« on: March 07, 2008, 15:20:59 »
I have a 280sl which when on idle is not smooth . I have change the injector pump , leads , installed a luminition , but it still runs rough .I had the pump changed and set up by an experienced guy but I have my dooubts now as to his experience on the sl .When the car is driven it seems th dive when going from idle to accelerate as if the timing is out but its not .When a speed is reached and you try maintain it the engine seems to starve of fuel ? What I need is details of adjustments on the injector pump and what they do . I love the car but it is no pleasure to drive . I have owned it for 3 years and it has always had this problem .
Any advice please

Hello, Alan,
Welcome to the site. Nice to have another member on this side of the pond!!
I suggest you do the linkage tour on top of this thread.
Also make sure the air completely shuts off from the small air filter on the injection pump when the engine is fully warmed up..

Hope this helps.
