Vacuum Dashpot - Total Elimination!
« on: April 14, 2008, 17:30:34 »
Recently my IP Pump was rebuilt by Pacific Fuel Injection
Pacific also altered the IP Pump using a Bosch Factory modification issued in the early 70s that allowed for the total elimination of the vacuum dashpot unit.  A cam adjustment, ... Pacific sent me the Bosch update article, which I have scanned in my PC as a pdf file.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will email it to you.
From what I understand... this adjustment can only be made by a professional with Bosch IP Pump test equipment.

For those of you with the later 113’s that have this vacuum dashpot, you probably know what a real pain it is to get it adjusted right…  I am happy that they were able to eliminate this piece from the fuel/air mixture adjustment ritual…

Bob :)

I'll add the contents to the Technical Manual, section on Injection Pumps. .. but it might take a little while.

thanks for the info.  Why did you choose Pacific over H&R?

oh boy!  Here we go... Can I answer your question?
Yes, if this site is for the people.  No if it is for the vendors.
H&R (nice people), redid my pump 3 years ago.
Also paid them $1,100.
Thanks, Bob
