I joined this forum a couple weeks ago and have already received helpful responses as I'm finally getting around to my restoration project. I can't afford a frame-off restore, so for now I'm trying to replace enough to make a nice week-end car.
My 1965 230 SL came into the family in 1978 when my father bought it while we were stationed in Germany. He fell in love with this model during his first Army tour in Germany (1967-68). The car came home with us in 1979 and was his daily driver until 1991. Then it sat in his garage for about a decade before he finally decided to give it to me. Unfortunately the car has sat in my garage for another 7 years until I just got around to giving it some much needed attention.
I have the car running now, with refursbished fuel system, new exhaust, and new chrome and rubber on the way. I hope to have it in decent shape to drive this Spring-Summer.

I'm looking forward to learning from the experiences of those who have been working on and enjoying their Pagoda's before me.
