Anyone hear from Dr. Dan?
« on: May 14, 2008, 20:31:12 »
Having read the forum for about four years now and also even owning a couple of the 113 autos over the past few years I enjoy the social aspect of this community that shares a common enthusiasm for what happens to be a pretty good touring car.  But these cars also need tender loving care and I know I'm not the only one to benefit and be enriched by the expert advice, instruction and concern a couple of our expert members offer (FREE OF CHARGE mind you) to this community at large.  True benefactors and the core of the forum.

In any case, I've noticed Dan Caron hasn't made a post in about three weeks or so - has anyone heard from him?  Hope all is well.  In any case, it's kind of like reading a syndicated daily columnist you like in the newspaper - sometimes you look to a particular members posts for their propitious wisdom, specialized information only gleaned from having been there and done that about one hundred times, or comedy that resonates with the subject matter at hand.  In any case, Dr. Dan offers that up, and hope we hear more from him again soon.  I remember Arthur Dalton from several years ago before Arthur made his final posting "M."  In any case, experts like Dan Caron and Arthur Dalton are the reason I keep coming back to the forum.  Don't think I've ever expressed my appreciation of the real experts before, and would like to express the wish for more golden posts in the future.

I talked to Dan a few days ago-- he's helping me with my idler arm bushing replacement and various other jobs too numerous to mention.

He's definitely a treasure trove of information about our cars and we should duly appreciate his FREE ADVICE, along with that of the other scant few vendor experts still left contributing to these forums.

Chad,

Where have YOU been?  Have you not paid attention to the entire "vendor trashing--vendor complaining--eBay" stuff that has gone on?

Dan had definite, passionate ideas about how the group should handle these things and, in a word, stopped posting, resigned from the Board and is focusing on his own business.

And, yes I've heard from him--he calls now and then I am LONG OVERDUE for a visit across the river.

Doesn't Dan also do some farming?  As it is spring here in the north I am sure he is real busy this time of year.

Yes, he does, and yes, I'm sure he is busy.  But, he told the Pagoda SL Group Board that he resigned his Board position and would no longer be contributing to the Forums.

UPDATE:  Since this post, Dan has contributed to the Forums.  He's still reading and keeping in touch.
