Whats the point of the Coil resistor?
« on: May 31, 2008, 00:36:43 »
From what I have read here, it seems like the only point of the coil resistor is to prevent interference with the radio??

So if we don't have a radio...then we don't need resistors?

Without resistors would it still interfere with HD or Sirius radio?

I know, I know..... I said I would'nt post tech stuff.

The resistor at the coil is for radio interference and seems to affect AM which no one listens to anymore for the most part. You can remove that.
The ballast resistor protects the coil from overheating.
