coolant metal lines 250sl RHD
« on: June 06, 2008, 05:51:45 »
I recently had the radiator recored and the coolant hoses replaced.
The mechanic advised that the metal line to the heater and the return metal line to the radiator botttom was corroded and needs to be replaced.

My car is RHD with the overflow tank mounted on the LHS of the engine bay.

I am wondering where the securing clamp is under the inlet manifold.

Can anyone advise (photo?) where the clamp is located and how do I access it.

Hopefully I don't have to remove the inlet manifold to replace it.

Thanks, all information welcome

Admin feel free to shift post to the correct forum... I didn't see one including 'cooling'

Hello, Bob,

No, you won't need to take off the inlet manifold, only the engine [:p]

The heater feed pipe runs on top of the right chassis leg. couple of 'P' clamps only, if I'm not mistaken. have a look under the manifold.

wow Naj,

You didn't HAVE to take the inlet manifold off your car just to take that photo for me BUT I really appreciate the fact that you did. :D

I will check under the inlet manifold.

Thanks for your help mate

Hiya, Bob,

Have a think about changing the WRD pipes as well while you have your wallet open.
