Very good. I'll post pictures once the weather is nice enough to take her out again.

Enclosed pictures of the Hella Classic 160 Chrome driving lamps. If you think they are a little too close to the middle of the car, it's because I've mounted them in the holes left by the removal of the bumper overriders, to prevent having to drill extra holes in the bumper.

These lamps are still available from Hella, look very good and provide a lot more light than the standard lights.

Just a follow up: my Cocos are here! While too late for Christmas, I'll call them my car's 45th Birthday present...

Nice Jim, I'm very happy with mine.

You might consider a steering wheel cover (leather) from Wheelskins.  Vendor on Ebay (azeco88, Strawberry Hill Ltd) has it cheapest, about $32 shipped.  Very nice, just email him your measurements.

Nope.  Talked to Jeff at www.cocomats.com and decided I like the look better (and more original) without the heel pad.  If it gets too worn in the heel area, I can send the mat back to Jeff and he'll sew a heel pad in.  Did the same in my 190 SL.

John, you mean you don't like my rubber 1987-style wheel wrap? It's really been on there since then! Actually, awhile back I literally had a Wheelskin in the cart -- was seconds away from pulling the trigger -- then someone said it was challenging to install (time-consuming and something about the spokes. I chickened out...

Well, you can see the picture of it on my Pagoda wheel below that shows the spokes well.  Spokes not a problem.  Yes, it takes time, took me about an hour and 1/2 or more, but I'm very particular and took my time.  Not that I was going to spend that time so much more productively doing something else.  It came out very nicely and my friend liked it so much he's doing it on his car.  If you're at all handy and careful, it won't be an issue to install.  If you're a slob and rush things, forget it.  Here's a shot of one on my Porsche 356.

Hey John, can I mention your name when my wife gets the bills for all these upgrades you talk me into! Anyway... I'd have to say I am closer to handy than a slob -- however I do have two conflicting quirks: I am kind of a perfectionist AND I am kind of impatient. Leads one to anger management I'm afraid...

But if I were to get the wheelskins, I am thinking dark blue? Agree? (as you can see, while you are expensive, you clearly have good taste as well!)

Feel free to mention my name and show her the pictures.  She'll agree your car is much too fine, and she fine a lady, to be riding in a Pagoda with its steering wheel covered in anything less.  I agree, dark blue or whatever is closest to your dash/seat/steering hub color.

I'm like you, a perfectionist, but want it done yesterday.  I have to force myself to slow down and keep repeating, "haste makes waste."  You'll do fine.  Just make sure to keep the seam where you want it as you move along.  I put the seam at the finger indentations so you see it from outside the car, but not inside.  It's a personal decision.  Don't go with Wheelskins stock size.  Measure the diameter and the circumference (girth) of the wheel (2 something if I recall).  Skew it tighter than looser, you can stretch a bit, but just a smidge (1/32 or so) under actual is about it.  Be sure to show us the results and the Ebayer I mentioned below is the cheapest and fast (for us impatient types).  Wheelskins site is much more expensive.

Here's a pic of where I put the seam on the 356

John, does 17.25 diameter 2 21/32 grip sound right? I saw this in a previous thread you posted to. Thought I'd ask "in lew" of trying to measure myself...

Assuming no change in the wheel size from the 230 to the 250, that should do it for you.  Just make sure to pull and keep tight as you go, the beginning is the most clumsy.  The thread is black, so on dark blue, it shouldn't show much.  Also, they give you PLENTY of thread, so you can leave a nice piece hanging out to begin, like 1 ft. that you'll use for the final tie off.  I think you'll be happy.

I put a Wheelskin on my car a while ago and am very happy with it.  As I remember to pull the thread tight, I used a glove on one hand so it wouldn't cut so much.

So, today turned out to be Wheelskinnin' Day... A few days ago, I removed my 1980s vintage rubber steering wheel cover, knowing that today would come. It felt very different to drive the car with no wheel covering. More 60s older car-ish. Then today, the new cover went on. Took me a lot longer than the directions -- all told a good three hours! I ended up hiring my 9 year old to help feed me the line so it wouldn't get tangled... But we made it. Here's the transformation.

They provide a lot of extra line.  Looks great!  Much classier.  Bet it feels a lot nicer than the old one.

According to their site, size B should work.

Is that what folk ordered or did you have to go Custom?

Can't tell yet -- my fingers are still too bloody. (little inside joke). Yes, feels great. If the sun cooperates, I'll see how it improves the ride sooooon!

Tosh -- I used the special size John recommended (indicated below). Perfect size.

They recommend wearing gloves to pull the lacing tight.  I wore thin leather gloves.  Not to get carried away though and rip any of the holes in the cover.

A little addition to complete the matching set.  Coco trunk mat...

Colors look off because the mat is in natural lighting and the car is reflecting flourescent lighting.  Mats are pretty true.  Car is way orangy.
