Fuel injector, cleaning

Should one, on a regulare basis, add a fuel injector cleaner, such as STP, to your gas tank to clean your injectors? Is there any danger doing this?

This Castle product is the only one I have ever had any noticeable results with, Castle Dragon Power. http://www.castleproductsonline.com/fuel_system_conditioner.html  I use it once a year in all my vehicles.

Waqas is correct; it's obtainable outside the trade. There are a few internet sites that sell it incl ebay. I've used it in my car on one occassion. I have poor compression and someone said give it a go. I can't say it made any difference but from the write ups on the net it seems that people swear by it. It's bloody expensive though. I think I paid about $35 for a can. Maybe a little more.

My pump rebuilder told me NEVER to use STP in these cars. It does something to the seals inside of the pump or something like that. At any rate, I'm not about to second guess him.

BG44K is readily available from dealers or independent auto parts stores. They won't sell to chains. Ebay is usually the cheapest source if you buy in bulk like I do.

Isn't the official MB stance to never add any additives or cleaners to your gas tank?
