There have been posts on various forums that I watch and occasionally contribute to, about shipping vintage or antique vehicles. In the past I have put up favorable reviews on Passport, Intercity Lines, and Dependable Auto Shippers, otherwise known as DAS. In the past, DAS shipped two Mini Coopers for me, and did a competent job.
I used them to ship the 280SL I bought in Reno, NV. To date the car is overdue and not here, most of the staff I spoke with were either disinterested or rude, and some appear to be lying, and the car spent a week outdoors in Texas despite DAS informing me that it would be under cover or in the truck the whole time. Finally today I spoke with a DAS employee who was both civil and helpful; the car will not be here for at least two more days, realistically, and could be delayed even further.
At this point I am just hoping that they have not damaged the car. Fortunately a video was shot of the car before shipment, so I have good evidence that it was intact before shipping. I would not use DAS under any circumstances; even a free move anywhere in the country would not be worth the frustration and inaccessibility of dealing with their "customer service" division. All of their people save one were no help at all, and totally disinclined to be of any service.
