Fan Shroud Stud?

On models with automatic, there is a shroud around the radiator fan. At the top and on the forward side of this shroud there is a M5 treaded stud, about 1/2 inch long. What is the function of this stud?

I think it secures a small bracket that holds the top of the shroud against the upper tank of the radiator. I can take a picture if you want.

Originally there was a steel strap that hooked under the front of the radiator core, wraped around the top tank and attached to the stud on the top center of the shroud.

This part was obsoleted way back when I worked on these cars, available now?

The stud holds a bracket that keeps the fan shroud from rattling on top.

Thank you Bob! That's a great photograph! And you had to take the hood off for me! Thank you very much! I'm going to see if I can buy that strap, if not, I'll make one. That car of yours is in pristine condition! Not even a speck of dust on it! Like it came out of the show room. I'm so envious!

Unfortunately, the strap has not been available for many years. I recently inquired with the Classic Center about this item. Also, don't forget the rubber buffers that are used to prevent the shroud from directly resting on the radiator.
