Restoration Colours - Photos wanted
« on: November 07, 2003, 05:43:41 »
Hi,

I'm restoring my 250SL (bare metal plus full new interior). The colour combination that appeals most is Silver metalic paint and red interior. Since the car has been resprayed by a previous owner I'm not fussed about the "don't change the colour as you'll destroy the originality of the car" argument plus I plan never to part with her.

Do any of you have this colour combination and, if so, would you be able to email me some pics? Any details on paint names and upholstery codes would be great as well. Please use andrew_j_mills@yahoo.co.uk.

Thanks
Andrew

Have a chat with Silverarrows in Putney. The bloke who runs the place, Michael Lavers is a 113 nut and will happily share his thoughts with you

If you look at their website (.co.uk) you'll see that your combo is their most popular - which suggests they know what you might be after

Who is doing the restoration work?

I think Silver Arrows have a lovely silver car with a grey metallic hard top which looks fantastic !  Cant remember the interior colour though !

Ben & Tosh,

Silver Arrows did indeed have one a few years back that he restored in Eastern Europe. I actually sat in it and it is the reason I want this colour combination. It was amazing!

The restoration will be completed in Australia at the end of next year once I ship her back. Most of the manual labour will be completely by me with a specialist coachwork fitter to finish body and paint. I am buying up all the parts required whilst in London.

Cheers
Andrew
