headlight chrome and body, any rubber?

Is there supposed to be any rubber between the chrome for the headlight and the body?  The light kind of leaks out a little bit on the sides at night and I was wondering if there should be anything to seal it up so the light is not seen on the sides between the chrome and the body fender.

There is no rubber between the chrome frame and the body, but at least on my car there is no light that leaks out around the chrome either.
