Jan,
Very, very nice.  You should create a website to display the restoration photos along with a story board.
Thanks for sharing,
Best,
Tom

Hello Jan,
I realize two things from your pics:
First of all:
your car looks stunning, just perfect.
A few questions - if I may...
Did you do the job yourself or did a restoration shop perform the work?
I am very interested to see your body-mounting system with which you can turn the whole body. I have seen others so far, all of those use axle mounting points but not the wholes for the bumper brackets.
Does this work well for the car? I can imagine that it is not good for a car as long as you do welding on the floor or the rails. Is it? This is no judgement of mine, it is just a little scared question. :(
How do the other experts think about this kind of mounting frame, Tom, Joe?
I find it very, very interesting. Makes cleaning, rust-removal and painting an easy game underneath the car ... :|  :|

Is your model a 230SL or 280SL? I noticed the rear end picture and the later taillights. this is fine for a 280SL for 1969 to 1971 but with all the work you have preformed I would have to say that getting the correct all red tailights is the way to go. They can be had new reproduction which are brighter with all the correct marking. contact Gernold at www.sltechw113.com

Hi Jan,
The rotation device shure looks great as does the restoration, did you make the device yourself?
Is it usable when the car is completely assembled?
When you're done with the car I would love to use the device!

Hello Bob,
You are right about the age from my 113.
He is from 1970, so according you there are the good taillights.
By the way, if I want to replace such things I will do that later on. It is an very expensive happening, and the taillights are very easy to replace.
I want to thank you for your comment.
many greetings from Jan Schuil

The leather is black, so is the carpet inside the car.

Hello Achim,
You were asking if a restauration-shop does the work. The answerd is no, we (espacially my dad) are doing it al by our selfs.(started in 1998)
The body was painted by an official company, because that is something you can not do by your self. It is very important for the restauration, because you can do it only 1 time good, because the car was completely empty!!!!
About the body-mouning system, we made it by our self, and it is a very special sytstem.
The car can turn 180 degrees, and you can turn him by your self without help from other people.
We had a lot of thinking to make it, but it is a system you can use on every 113, with absolutely no demage on the car!!!!!!
It is not hanging only on the holes of the bumper brackets, that should be very dangerous for the car.
I want to thank you for responding on our pictures, there wil be more!!!!
