distributor rebuilders
« on: November 14, 2008, 19:14:35 »
After dealing with the issues I found with my distributor
I thought I'd post the resources for working on our distributors that I found.

A moderator may want to move this info to the vendor list.

1. Dr Dan  who we all know

2. Ed Fall  of vintage werks

http://www.vintagewerks.com/
worked on my 009 and 051.
He sent me the data and actual advance curves on both distributors.
works on vw and porsche distros but will work on ours.
$50 bucks for eval and adjustment,  125 for total restore.  (yes he applies the 50 toward the resto )

3  Rob Stewart  in Calf. at cell- 707-332-9280
works mostly on ferrari's but also knows these distros well
nice guy to talk to.  He does strongly recommend converting to a petronix

4. SLS Europe  - 215005 is an overhaul service for your old distributor and needs 4 weeks.

5. Glenn Ring
 http://www.glenn-ring.com/bosch/
Nice guy to talk to as well,  does not have many mb distro parts but can do a resto for you.

Also note: Ray at Buds benz whom many of us know can still buy the generic distro rebuild kits if needed.

Glen Ring did two distributors for me and I am very satisfied with his work.
