clutch alignment tool
« on: October 21, 2008, 14:14:53 »
Hi, does anyone know where I can purchase a clutch alignment tool for the 230SL?  Is some other car model the same size input shaft?  I have the normal 4 speed transmission.  Thanks,  Ron

I use an old input shaft from any trans of that vintage. Works like 10 men.

Thanks Dan.  10 men????  I don't have an old input shaft, so using you suggestion, I looked up the tools for other M-B models from the mid 1960's.  I finally found Dorman 14522, and my local parts store had it in stock.  It's a tight fit into the clutch hub, but it'll work!  Thanks, Ron

I'd like to see 10 men get under that car and align the clutch plate all at the same time.
