I finally got to drive my first Pagoda this week (a 1967 250SL)
It was a bit of a mission getting it registered & on the road in Hong Kong, but it was worth it as I could not find one locally (I've only seen around 5 or 6 of these cars out here).
The process started back in November 2010 with the help of a mate in London. I bought the car from Classic Chrome in the UK (ex Jonathan Dimbleby's car - UK political commentator) after a PPI from a local specialist.
Shipping took about 1 month. The harder part was getting it tested & registered/approved for road use here -- it took 3 months! Just in time for a hot, sticky summer.
First impressions of the car are that the brakes are excellent for a car of this age, which might come in useful with the HK taxi drivers cutting in & changing lanes every 5 seconds!
