« on: January 07, 2009, 23:32:10 »
Has anyone taken apart the windshild the wiper arms in order to send them out for chrome.  I am looking for guidance on how the reassemble and where to get the rivits to reassemble.

I thought about it but judging from the construction of the arms and the fact that not all the individual parts can be disassembled properly, I gave up.

I think the arm is stainless steel but the part near the nut - not sure what it's called - isn't because mine is pitted.

Does anyone know if the left and right wiper arms are the same?  SLS has the left listed for sale but not the right one so just wondering.

Hello, Eryck,

Yes, the arms are different, in where they bend near the wiper blade fitting so that the wiper blades park (almost) horizontal.
The original arms on my 280 are chrome plated but new ones I recently got are stainless (brushed chrome look - not shiny).

Just a be careful

I ordered new blade rubbers from SLS - they had exactly the right profile and fit perfectly. But are about 4cm too short

So they need to go back to SLS and I need new blades for my extra long arms ??? ;)
