This weekend, we had a tinker with a US spec 250 SL.
It runs very very rich.
A Blacklick test with no fuel and just opening the throttle valve revs up the engine with no load to 3000 rpm.
My bet was that it had a stuck open CSV.
I lost. Not even one drop a minute leakage!
Oil level in the FIP was all the way up the dipstick.
The oil was black and thick, no sign od fuel dilution. This was sucked out with a syringe and replenished with new oil upto the correct level.
No change in the richness of the exhaust.
Would playing with the oval shims cure it or does the pump need to come off?
