Hello i'm Claudio from italy!!
May you help me? I'm the owner of a pagoda 2+2 California yellow color with White hard top.
I don't like it and i want to change color of all car.
Which is the original color? the code is 653 G.

Are you SURE it's 653? The G normally means a Glasurit paint (manufacturer). They show no Mercedes with a 653 code...

Similarly, our own tech manual shows no similar code (let alone a matching one)

Could it be a custom colour? Although if so, it's likely to show up on the Glasurit site...

I looked through my Glasurit book and several other paint chip lists for the era, and there is no reference to a DB 653, could it be 623? or 658 (light ebony - yes ebony go figure the naming system)
