More accurately

It's a write-up of a Classic Centre 5spd 230s drive from Stuttgart to Bordeaux to meet Msr Bracq and a few lines about him. Nice article and pictures though. Another one praising the car and effectively wondering why it isn't more sought after

I just happened to pick up the March 2009 Classic and Sports Car mag from the UK this past weekend. Reading through it I happened to notice they were advertising an article for the next issue on the Mercedes 230 SL with a pilgrimage across Europe to meet Paul Bracq. It will probably be another few weeks for this to show up in the States. Anyone in the UK/Europe have a chance to read this yet?? Comments. Mr. Bracq also had a few comments in the March issue about his favorite design (BMW Turbo) and other classic cars as a part of "Designer Classics". A very eclectic blend of choices for smart design from a wide range of auto designers.

In the text of the article is barely half a paragraph pertaining to Paul Bracq's recollections of his involvement with the Pagoda.  Even the Writer was disappointed, but he DID get a nice souvenir for a Pagoda owning friend!  The car was an early, upright spare 230SL with a 5-speed manual lent by the Classic Center in Fellbach.  I don't recollect that the ZF 5-speed was available that early in the model run!

Cover story on 230SL drive and visit with Paul.  Good for Pagoda image-PPP-Positive Pagoda Persiflage.   Pagoda prices on page 147.
