Is this worth the purchase?
« on: April 08, 2009, 12:57:32 »
There is an ad in the local Craigslist...  http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/1110393110.html

I was wondering if this is the same engine as the 113?    Are there parts that can
be used on our engines?  i.e.  fuel pump, injection pump, heads, etc....

Thanks,

Hi Bill - I'm pretty sure this is one of those sedans that has plenty of parts in common with the 113, engine to start with. So if you can get this car for, say, $400 (wouldn't surprise me) and then dismantle it for all of the usable parts, you will have a lot of goodies to help keep your Pagoda running for a long time ... particularly if that is the actual mileage.

Hi, Bill,

I'm with Cees here.

The W108 has a lot of common running gear parts with the 113, especially in this case with the very similar 280 engine (too bad yours is a 230...).

Definately a good buy if you've got the room to store it. You could also sell a lot of the body parts on ebay etc. to get more than your money back.
