Oil sump dipstick

I deciphered the stamping on the blade of my M130 dipstick for the first time yesterday. It reads "230/250 67". I have an early '68 M130 280 and am wondering if this is the correct dipstick? Did the oil pans or dipsticks change between the 230 and 280 engines?

I initially tried to search under "oil sump dipstick". Should have tried just "dipstick". I guess that is the trick with the search function. Try many word combinations and eventually you will find the right one.

According to my Niemoller bible, the M130 oil pan should have the long tube for the dipstick.  Then the short 230/250 stick would not reach the oil level.  It sound like the oil pan is from n M129 engine.  Use this link to view my reference: http://www.niemoeller.de/w113-en/index.htm

The M130 engines had both. The early ones used the shorter unit and had the shorter tube going to the oil pan.
