280SL rust repairs (w pics)
« on: January 06, 2004, 08:40:10 »
Here are about 30 pictures taken during a major body repair effort on my 280SL. Most of the rust was "invisible" hidden by the carpets, proof that even a decent looking SL can have substantial rust down below.

Due to the size, I am not posting these pics here but this link has everything:

I will add more pics as I begin the interior renovation.

Mike,
I am about at the same stage as you. What tire & size are you planning to install? Every tire I go to purchase seems to be recently discontinued.

Mike, thanks for the pics, it looks like nice work (at least to my amateur eyes).  I hope the rest of the work goes well!

Mike,
It seems that you have your hands full and I hope that your wallet is not empty yet. As the owner of a 1969 280SL, color 291, dark olive and bamboo interior, who recently went through a paint job, I can empathize with your experience. Perhaps we need to create a sub group of Pagoda owners who have recently painted their cars 291 color.
Best regards,
Ted
