Seat upholstery.
« on: May 01, 2009, 03:09:15 »
Back again. I don't know what I would do with out this forum!

I have my seat kits from World Upholstery and they are at my upholster. He is really backed up, so I am considering doing them myself. Has anyone done it themselves? Is it a doable job yourself? Are there any special tools or  tricks (warnings) anyone can give me?

Thanks again for all of your help.

I did my seats as well.
No problems replacing the covers.
No special tools needed
Fitted headrests also, as a PO had put 250 seatbacks in at some stage.

Check and see if your local college has an upholstery class...I am currently taking one at night one night a week to redo my interior and top on my 1970 280se 111 cab.  Hugely entertaining and their is certainly and art to the proper stretching and fitment of materials.

Good luck!
