230SL in a book
« on: May 27, 2009, 21:36:14 »
My wife came across an inexpensive book while she was shopping (she says that's her job) the other day. The book is called A Pocket Guide to CARS. And it claims to be A complete guide to the ultimate performance cars.

So I enjoyed it & thumbed through it. And look what I find:

How cool is that?! My 230 is a performance car!

ehmmm ... how many other cars are featured in this book? If it's 100, we're happy. If it's more like 1,000, we're back to reality...

Hahaha. Well... There are nearly 140 cars listed... From the AC Ace to the Volvo P1800S.

They show 13.4 seconds 0-60MPH for the P1800... The P in P1800 must have not stood for performance. With that said I had a pal in high school that thought his P1800 was the best car ever. I was in a MGB at the time so who was I to contradict that?  ;D (by the way the MGB is in this book too!)  :o

It's clear why the book is being sold for $4. Sounds like value to me!

Perhaps they meant to say "perform as cars" instead of "performance cars"...? <duck>  ::) ;D
