a new design of battery holder needed
« on: July 03, 2009, 00:43:14 »
I bought the new supreme interstate battery f series for our car-it has 800 cranking amps-it's heavy so they put plastic handles on it to lift it. I had to take off handles and it has a plastic lip that keeps the tray top from going over-it needs to be longer to allow for the newer stronger batterys-I placed a piece of rubber under my positive terminal to keep it from touching the frame-it is well worth it--------My car starts right up------------my old battery had 550 ca and would be tired when I cranked it-the newer f-series are the same diminsion, but the plastic lip and handles causes problems for the frame. Most cars dont have a battery holders like our cars

I recently purchased a "Rayovac" battery from "Batteries Plus".
With all the stickers removed, it looks like an "old" battery.  Very plain, simple.
It also fit nicely in the lower tray and the upper hold-down frame fits pretty good.
This is a good alternative...
