Does anyone know what the compression should be on a new head for a 1970 280SL?

If you check the technical manual and use 'compression' as your search word, you will come across this page, among others:
http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Engine/Compression
It has the information you are looking for I think (and probably much more). Let us know if you get stumped along the way.
