Fuel pump bottom seal size
« on: September 28, 2009, 23:50:57 »
I got a replacement O ring seal for the mottom plate of my fuel pump. The diameter of the O is correct for the groove, but the cross section of the actual rubber is too small by about half.

In other words the ring fits into the groove but there is lots of room left over in the groove.

Miller said its the only one listed for the 113 regardless of pump. Suggestions...any previous experience?

Hey Jerry
Have a read of the Tech Manual here http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Fuel/FuelPumpRebuildEarly and here
http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Fuel/FuelPumpRebuildLater

There is a mention of a BS 039.N70 o-ring.

It might be worth going to a bearing/seal shop with the Millers o-ring and see what you can find.

If you find something local please advise the group of the size.

Thanks

I use a 2X70 N70. This is a metric nitrile o-ring. It has to be stretched slightly to fit the groove, but provides  the required sealing.
