Soft top/Hard top at the top of the windscreen
« on: October 03, 2009, 17:02:08 »
That time of year again....

Over the summer I noticed that at low speeds/rough roads, the nearside (left) retaining bolt on the soft top would work loose at the top of the screen/behind the sun visor and require an intermittent tighten with the handle.

Last week the hard top was put on and I have the same problem. Except it's on the offside (right).

Fickle, these old cars.....

Is the mounting bushing alright? When I lock my top in place, there is no play at all in the connection, and it stays put.
I think the plastic gasket/shim is replaceable. However, I scanned through the parts book and did not see a reference for this. I am sure the others will jump in.
