windshield question

How many variations are there for a 'correct' front winshield/windscreen?

If a car was optioned with tinted windows would the front windshield be tinted?

I've seen at least two brands with the MB star - Sekurit and "Konigsglas" or something like that.

Or, do you mean variations in that it was a clear windshield, a fully tinted windshield, or a tinted band across the windshield?  Not sure what "variation" you're trying to nail down.

My car seemed to have a very old windshield (lots of scratches) when I got it and it had a green band across the top. Although my side and (hardtop rear) windows are tinted, I don't believe that front windshield was tinted aside from the green band.
I since replaced it with a clear one without the band. Forget the cost, but is seemed quite reasonable at the time.
Funny how they are called 'windscreen' or 'windshield' although they also shield from rain, hail, sleet and snow (and bugs, mud and the occasional stone)! "Mostshield" would have been more appropriate.
