Any hints on this? The carpet is really on there.
I tried heat, NG.
I'm thinking
1) get new ones
or
2) flip them over and face the old carpet into the seat

I faced the same problem. Used the old seatbacks as patterns to cut new ones out of masonite. Very easy. The vent trim and seat back retainer metal hide the cut edges.

Try Laquer Thinner or Acetone. Soak corner, peel back a small area , apply thinner or Acetone, peel back, add moore, peel back, repeat. This worked for me with Acetone.

You might want to try the 3M product for removal of trim glue. Comes in spray can and you can get it at Advance Auto, or Auto Zone. It de-solves the glue
