Hello,

Just got a 73 280sl with the M110 inline six.
The problem is i just replaced the modulator valve on the trans. and was wondering how to adjust it? It is just not shifting right.
Thanks in advance.

Hello 73MB,
You may find information a little irrelevant on this list. Your 280SL is a W107 chasis with a M110 engine as you mentioned. Mercedes never sold this model in the USA. They were brought over by individuals and grey market independent  dealers.
This list covers the W113 chasis produced from 1963 through 1971. These cars had the single ovehead cam M127, M129 and M130 engines.
(The following information is not for any W113 cars but for your W107); a new modulator usually needs no adjustment. Adjust the length of  linkage rod going from the engine to the transmission to change shifting points. Making the rod longer will make the transmission shift sooner. Making the rod shorter will make the transmission shift later. If you do decide to adjust the modulator you should have a guage to set the correct pressure. Good luck!
