Interior vendors

Since searching the site and not coming up with what I'm looking for I thought I would post this question.

Any feeling for which vendor to use when looking at replacing seat covers, door panels, headliner, carpets, etc?

I'm a ways away from tackling this, but in a month or so will be to the point of putting in carpet, hardtop headliner and door panels.  I've looked over GAHH, Miller, and Buds Benz.

Yes by far the best is GAHH.  I used them and their leathers were great.

i used GAHH , for my cabriolet, not happy, the dye is only on the surface not all the way through , like the original leather, the black scratches off easily,
Connally leather is supposed to be the best, but I think they went out of business

Thanks for the feedback.  BTW, I did Google Connelly and it looks like they are no longer in business.  Now, the big decision, keep MBTex and change to leather.

Try spelling it "Connoly" and googling it.  The company may be gone, but their products are still available.  One source:  UK Hide.

Hello All - - I am in general agreement with all of these postings. In the USA, GAHH has the best leather for our cars. However I went in the back door when I acquired the kit for my car. I got mine from GERMAN AUTO TOPS, INC (818) 766-9511 in N. Hollywood, CA. The company owner, one John Oganesyan, talked me through the whole process. He also stated that he is the supplier for materials and the labor in the GAHH kits  - - - - then they mark them up 25%.

The original leather made by Roser was never dyed all the way through as far as I know. Roser is also no longer in business, but there are suppliers in Germany who by special order can deliver the same quality manufactured the same way as the original leather from Roser was made. It does not come cheap though.  The quality is excellent, I saw a pagoda interior with 1088 red leather in that leather quality and it was excellent.

I am a textured vinyl fan due to how well it wears over time. (BTW, I believe that there is technically no MB Tex for the aftermarket, just textured vinyl stamped to give the original "look"). No one carries my 230 SL interior color any longer (113 bronze) so GAHH made up an interior set for me out of a very similar Porsche brown and didn't ask for an upcharge (read: "happy") . See the pic attached. The ash tray cover is the original vinyl.

Kevin, your interior color is one of the best I've seen.  I also agree with the textured vinyl.  My 95 300D is MB Tex and still looks very good after 15 years.

I agree, quite a nice color. Since it is very difficult to gauge color on a computer screen, did you look at cognac? Is it close at all?

Upholstery code #113... Its definitely darker than cognac and lighter than dark brown. From what I understand, most 280 SL colors are still available but some of the 230 SL colors are NLA. I wanted to get as close to the original as possible and it just so happened the Porsche brown worked. Would have really been stuck if GAHH wasn't so flexible.
