Power steering pump

Just found my steering pump was really loose and moving about! The front clamp bolts were undone and the rear bolt was almost falling out. The spacer is missing.
The rear bolt does not meet any thread when I push it in, i'm hoping some PO just used a bolt that is too short rather than the thread is stripped. This bolt
has a thread length of 65mm. I cannot find reference to the pump on the EPC.
SLS show two bolts (no dimensions) and six spacers!
I can measure the spacer gap and use washers as a tempory fix but i need the correct bolt length, anyone help?

The large adjusting bolt is M10 x 88mm long with a 12mm spacer, the other thee bolts that hold the pump together are M8 x 76mm, SLS list them both.

Hi thanks for that, but I am beginning to suspect that it is not a metric thread!
I will have to remove the pump to check it out so first remove the hood..............

Hi, Larry,

To find the PAS pump on the EPC, input the chassis details and click on engine, but not any specific section.
Then use the search button on the top left to search for part and input 'pump' in the description box.
It will find all the pumps including the PAS pump.
3 of the bolts are MB numbers, not din so there may be something special about them.
One of the bolts has a din # but its also special in that its not the normanl 8.8 tensile strength, but 10.9.

Thanks for that Naj, found the pump!
Not sure why there are two bolts shown, maybe as you say different hardness.
All my efforts to screw a 10 mm in have failed so I think a different thread is involved.
The pump, i believe, is made by Vickers so could be an inch thread.

Having trouble removing the radiator, it will not clear the mounting tabs on the oil cooler. So it looks
like the oil cooler has to be pulled. My question is how much oil will flow out of the cooler pipes
when disconnected?

You will need to remove the oil cooler with the radiator and you shouldn't lose much oil if you tie off the lower pipe with its open end up, just remember to drain the cooler first.

Just to finish this one off incase it should come up again. To cut a long and sometimes painful story short, the bolt which
passes through the spacer at the rear of the power steering pump is 3/8 UNC thread and about 3 1/2 inches long!
The pump was made by Vickers in the UK and the only imperial bolts in the whole car are the 4 which hold the two halves of the pump together,
one of which is used to secure the pump to it's carrier as above. The PO or perhaps shop must have lost this bolt and just pushed a 10mm bolt in the hole
with the consequence that the pump becomes loose as the front mounts cannot hold it alone.
