"Breaking" a seat
« on: August 02, 2010, 13:25:38 »
I know getting a seat out is easy enough - 4 bolts which are a tough to get back in

But once out, is it as straightforwards to break the seat into "squab" and "back"?

It's fairly straight forward.  First you need to remove the rear carpeted panel.  There are two screws at the base of the panel and then you can slide the back downward.  The next step is to remove the seat reclining rod.  There are 2 C fasteners that need to be removed so that you can slide the rod out the knob side.  You need to support the back while doing this.  Next is the chrome hinge cover.  They are held in place by little plastic clips on the very bottom.  Be careful with them because they can break easily.  Once you clear the plastic clips you can slide the hinge cover up to expose the hinge bolt.  Remove the hinge bolt and the seat sections are separated
