Reg--yes special cups and screws, it was discussed earlier this year...do a search and you'll find it.  Parts available, nothing too cheap however.

Hello Reggie,

As mentioned, those screws and cup washers are available from the dealer.
Part numbers are as follows:
  • N007 983 003 216 for the screws
  • N900 056 003 507 for the cup washers

You would need 8 of each.

The chrome strips between the door rubber and the carpet:

They are called Einsteigsblenden and are 142 EUR each which should be in the area of 185 USD (but if you are residing outside of the EU, the 19% is not applicable)

So - yeah they're expensive, wonder if it would be cheaper to have the local blacksmith copy them and have them chromed...

Otherwise, shop around at ebay.de / .co.uk or .com - they pop up occassionally :-)

no way Ulf..at current labor costs, and then trying to be identical plus chroming. Not even the same ballpark. Buy them done already..whether its sls or anyone else. The german equivalent has a post about reproducing them, and I put my name in for a set,but so far they haven't let me know that they are available

I agree, they look to be extruded and chromed......no easy (read reasonably priced) way to replicate.

sorry, hope I didn't confuse, but chroming wasn't the right term. Since they are extruded aluminum, they are actually anodized. While still doable, it would be near impossible on one off items to reproduce at a competitive cost. Turns out I looked at the german website and looks like their reproduction attempts are stagnated at this time as well, so SLS etc is probably the best option.
