These are side shift transmissions so the tunnel may require some massaging. Did anyone do that transplant already? I may have access to one for the price of a Getrag 265 + adapting kit.

I guess you can make anything fit but the amount of messing around and alteration to the originality of vehicle is the question.

I looked at the possible of fitting a side shift gearbox but the modification to the tunnel and then the cost and messing around with getting the side shift to adapt to the existing gear lever position did not work and that the Getrag was the easiest route to take.

It can be done
EJM from London has done it with success but it did mean a fair bit of butchering to the tunnel.
Not as nice a box as the getrag and Ed eventually took that box out and fitted a 265 in that particular car.
