Injection Pump Parts
« on: January 29, 2004, 14:58:56 »
Hi,

I am looking for the bell shaped cover with the two coolant hose fittings that covers the thermostat that sits on top of the injection pump.  Mercedes no longer lists it.  Does anyone have a source?  If you happen to have the part # that may help also.

Thanks

There's two different types. One is fairly long and the other is quite a bit smaller. The early ones are long and the 250/280's are the smaller ones.
I have both types but would need to know which one you need.

I am told that the solenoid on the injection pump on my 1966 230SL needs to be replaced. Apparently Bosch does not sell the part and I was also told that therefore the complete pump needs to be refurbished.
Anybody out there who can provide some help and insights how to get a solenoid?
Thanks,
Alfred

Probably Dan C (Benz Dr.) has an extra one around, so you could drop him a note. If your pump is functioning properly, there would be no need to go through an extensive overhaul just for this.

Some of the sites mentioned in the LINKS on the Homepage have online catalogues that you can peruse and possibly find the part you need.
I vaguely remember seeing them on the SLS catalogue.

SLS does show it listed on their catalog. Current price shown is 177 Euros (which is net the VAT in Europe). Miller's has the thermostat (which I just ordered for mine at about $20) but not the housing.

Why is this jumping back up to the top of the page? I have a box full of these things but never did hear from anyone looking for one so I just figured they found one.
