What is this bracket on engine inner right fender
« on: February 28, 2011, 19:45:08 »
Hello All,

Just one question.
On my 280 sl 1970 I had before restoration on my original engine inner fender one special bracket which was welded and that I welded again on the new part (because not fitted on the new MB inner fender).
This bracket is fitted with 2 integrated nuts (not cages but welded) dia M6 if I remember well, but nothing was screwed on it. It maybe was useful for some options?

Have you one idea?
I send you one picture.

I don't have it on either my '69 or my '70.
Both USA version, though.

I wonder why your LHD car has it?
On RHD cars, the voltage regulator is mounted on it (yes, with 2 6mm bolts).
