New ZF 5 Speed now available again
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:24:54 »
Members, ZF announced that, when they have 250 interested buyers, they exceptionally start up the production again. Good news, they'll produce spareparts as well. Bad news, 6850 euro to spend for the box...https://www.zf.com/corporate/de/company/tradition/s5_20/online_order_s5_20/s5_20_order_form.html

I bought Classic and Sports Car magazine this month (a bunch of V8 Astons on the front).

There's a full page  ad in there from ZF confirming (as per the other thread) that as soon as they receive 250 confirmed orders, they'll get making.

Thought the full page ad bit was interesting

(edit) I've come over all... "oooh for a resto job that I could (pay to) build around a 5 speed"

Seems to me like a fair price for what is essentially a built to order re-creation of the original transmission + guarantee to supply parts for it! Problem is the weakness of the dollar against the euro now.

Great price for Australians though with our dollar now at $1A to $1.05US., not quite so hot agains Euro but still up there.  Think I will order a couple to go.
