carpet glued or air stapled ?

on the 2 storage area pieces, should the carpet be air stapled or glued here. My old aftermarket carpet had been stapled back in the 80's. Was the original carpet glued or air stapled, on these 2 pieces?--------------I am putting in the original loop carpet-------------it looks like the staples work really well. what do you guys think?

The original carpet is both glued and stapled on these pieces.
