Nice day for a ride
« on: June 12, 2011, 22:52:49 »
We took our little Roadster out for a nice long ride today through the Gold Rush country. Drove down Hwy 49 to the little town of Sutter Creek (where these pictures were taken) and took the long way home racking up over 100 miles on the odometer. Probably been over 30 years since that many miles were driven in one day on our car! Ran like a top and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. To top it all off, we saw another Pagoda (white hardtop with black CA plates) going the opposite way on Hwy 49 just north of "Dry Town" (Those prospectors had a great sense of humor back 1849:-) That marks only the 2nd or3rd one we have seen since moving up here 11 years ago.

John

PS after looking at these pictures, I had better work on my parallel parking skills!

Looks fantastic 49er... glad to see you out and about. If you decide to venture the other way on 49 let us know. And corral that other Pagoda next time you see it -- we need to build up the Gold Country SL Pagoda section. I chatted with a nice couple the other day who have a Red 230SL here in Grass Valley. I hit them over the head with the website address... Hope they show up here sometime.
