Window Stop Confusion

I am in the process of reinstalling the rear glass jaw on the passenger window to hopefully get rid of the rattling (following instructions from this site thank you very much).  When I removed the door panel I noticed I only had one functioning window stopper.  I have attached a picture of it for reference.  Does anyone know if these are still available, a part number maybe or if someone has an extra one kicking around.  Thanks

It looks like SLS has this piece -- although it is actually a few pieces - each sold separately. Page 72c of the catalog.

Thanks James.  Yes, it looks like SLS has the bracket but not the rubber stopper.  The MB classic centre has the stopper but does not show a bracket.  Very odd .  I am hoping I do not have to go to two sources for such a small part.  Would anyone have one they aren't using?

Can anyone tell me if there should be one stopper or two per side window?  I took off the drivers side panel and found the same full stopper plus half a stopper (part of upper bracket looking like is was snapped in two and no rubber).  Maybe the one I have from each side is enough.  Does any one know?  Many thanks.

Hi Marcus. Well, I have my door panels off so I am the perfect guy to ask, right? Wrong. I do not see that part anywhere! I have two rubber tipped brackets at the bottom of the glass that resemble the rubber tipped end of you piece. Then in the front, I have one stopper screw connected to the window regulator. There is no removable piece there... My doors could be anomalies (as early ones)? Not sure.

James, do you have any pictures showing how yours are set up?  Based on what I have found behind the door panels I am beginning to wonder if whoever had taken them off previously didn't put things back correctly.   I found the screw and washer that goes under the arm rest screwed into the door BEHIND the panel.  Any pictures would be great.  If problems posting send them to mdvanbers@talkwireless.ca.  Thanks

I am hoping someone that knows more about these cars can set me straight about the window stops inside the doors.  The first picture below shows the screw that stops the window when you roll it up.  The second and third pictures show two types of stops, which I assume are for stopping the window when it is rolled down.  The stop shown in picture 2 is at the front of my window while the stop in picture 3 is at the back.  Both doors are the same.  James (J.Huber) sent me pictures of his interior door and he shows only those stops seen in pictures 1 and 2.  James has the stop shown in picture 2 at the front and back of his window.  He does not have the stop shown in picture 3.  However, if you refer to reply 15 on the this thread (http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=9806.0) it shows a picture of the bracket with the rubber stop as seen in picture 3.

OK, now my question is what is the function of the stop shown in picture 2?  Is the stop shown in picture 3 correct or is something missing.  What is correct?  Was there a change in the type of stop used?  My 230SL is a very late model while James is an early model.  I just want to make sure the stops are correct before I put my panels back on the doors.  So any and all help is appreciated.

There are two stop tabs on each window glass, but only one has the rubber stop on the bottom (the rear one) This is the case on all models.
this bumper screw is the same part as the rubber stop screws for the hood.

it is  very likely that you have figured it out already but this stopper limits the upward movement of the window when the door is open.
